After visiting the major Swiss cities I can tell without any doubt that Switzerland boasts top class buildings and I particularly appreciated the ones designed by local architects.

The beauty and individuality of Zürich’s architectural heritage is striking. Old and modern perfectly blend together. You can see this contrast in an interior with its exterior or in a new addition to an existing building. There’s always harmony and a balance between the two.
Here are some places you shouldn’t miss.

Just by getting a bit further north Zürich city centre you can find some pretty impressive buildings with highly geometrical facades full of interesting patterns and lines.

I really need to thank Philipp Heer, @lerichti on Instagram, who showed me all these beautiful buildings and facades that fill his Instagram gallery. For those who don’t know him, he is an excellent photographer based in Zürich whose work focuses on architecture, mostly in Switzerland.

These are some of the architecture jewels he showed me. You can find all of them on his Instagram page as well – which I literally used as a great source of information and inspiration to plan my Swiss trip -.
