I decided to walk down Tottenham Court Road and have a look at my favourite furniture shops which luckily are all set in line down the same road.
One of my very favourite furniture shops since it’s a Danish brand that promotes and sells Scandinavian furniture and home accessories. Scandinavian design is always the best choice since it aims to be functional and elegant, classic and simple. A trust-worthy italian design furniture store. Glad to see their flagship store even in London. I used to select furniture from Calligaris quite regularly when I was working for an architecture firm in Milan. Calligaris is promoting an interesting visual project through Instagram called #styleyourcity in which design and beautiful landscapes or landmarks in different cities are put together. Check it out!

From Brooklyn, West Elm exported its sophisticated and bohemian style in London. A vast collection of furniture, lighting and decorative objects with a variety of styles. I’m deeply fascinated by their philosophy of searching for handmade and promoting craft and artisan skills.

Furniture store born in London and now with shops all over the UK. Dwell offers modern but still affordable design pieces of furniture and home accessories. Another store that I never miss to visit on a stroll in Tottenham Court Road.

And then Heal’s. Well-known store even among photographers for the most beautiful spiral staircase in London! Perfect place to find modern and contemporary design, from the sculptural and opulent Tom Dixton to the eccentric and daring Timothy Oulton with so much more in between.
